Did you know? Things are 5 times better in Bundaberg Region as there are 5 Lions Clubs. They are Bundaberg Lions Club, Bundaberg Hinkler Lions Club, Bundaberg North Lions Club, Bargara Lions Club and Moore Park Lions Club. I am sure you already know that Lions Clubs are the largest community service organization with over 50,000 Lions Clubs and 1.39 million members worldwide. Also that there are 1114 Lions Clubs in Australia with 21580 members. District 201Q4 has 58 Clubs with 944 members with the 5 Bundaberg Region Clubs have 86 members.
The Bundaberg Region Lions Clubs all have their favourite projects and sometimes combine to get the job done. Lions Club members raise funds for thousands of worthwhile causes that save and improve lives. They include Medical Research, Emergency Relief, Education, Homeless and many more.
The Lions Clubs have been responsible for the creation of many local facilities. Many parks in Bundaberg Region have their origin from Lions Clubs. Other organisations also had their beginnings with Lions Club support. One of many In Bundaberg is Bundaberg Meal On Wheels which started as a Lions Club Project.
Below is a current rundown on just a few Bundaberg Region Lion Clubs diverse projects.
Bundaberg Region Lions Clubs have fundraising projects such as Lions Christmas Cakes, Raffles, Melbourne Cup Sweep and BBQ, Sausage sizzles. Chip van and others. Funds from these help us support many local projects and activities. Bundaberg Lions Clubs main service project is currently promoting and distributing the Emergency Medical Information Book which will save lives. Bundaberg Hinkler Lions Clubs current main project is the Shower Laundry Trailer which is making a huge difference to those in need. Bundaberg North Lions Clubs main project is the White Cane Luncheon which is held every year supporting the vision impaired citizens. Bargara Lions Clubs current main project is planting trees at Charlotte Wood supporting a major reforestation project to reclaim an old quarry site. Moore Park Lions continue to support local Moore Park Beach activities like community markets. There are a lot of other Lions activities in progress with many more planned. It can be very difficult for the Lions members to pick a favourite project.
All the Lions Clubs are after new members. It is explained to community members Your life and the community you serve will both benefit. The Bundaberg Region Lions Clubs have Facebook and web pages for you to see their activities.
