About Bundaberg Lions Bursary inc.

The Bundaberg Lions Bursary inc was created as a charity to provide support and encouragement as a bursary/award to those School students. The Bundaberg Lions Club supports this charity as it does with many others. The Bundaberg Lions Bursary inc is an entity in its own right with its own constitution and legal requirements.

HISTORY

Thanks to the generosity of a Bundaberg Lions Club member in 2020 an annual bursary and two awards are being made available as bursary/awards. The bursary and awards will be funded by a share portfolio. Depending on return dividends the value of the bursary and awards may vary year to year.

Why was the Bundaberg Lions Bursary inc created?

The Bundaberg Lions Bursary inc charity was created to manage the bursaries and awards. The charity will be able to accept donations which will not be tax deductible.

CRITERIA

How Bursaries/Awards are selected.

The High School will select the students aged from 15 to 25 from the criteria given.

Lion George Pohlmann Bursary for Maths.

This Bursary is to be presented to the highest achieving mathematics student in Grade 11 that meets the criteria.

Lion George Pohlmann Incentive Award.

The selection criteria for this award requires the recipient to be a Grade 11 student that meets the criteria and

to have good scholastic results;

not be the recipient of any other school award or bursary;

to be involved in school activities outside the classroom;

to participate in other community activities;

Lion George Pohlmann Award for Young Arithmetic.

This award is for a student who meets the criteria and is considered to be the best at arithmetic.
